EMPOWER, INSPIRE & AFFIRM Black Women
BLACK WOMEN AT WORK
The “angry black woman” trope, race, culture and gender bias, and microaggressions that antagonize Black women in corporate have levied a quantifiable level of emotional trauma and career setback within the corporate experience. While the social reckoning after George Floyd’s death in 2020 triggered exuberant, widespread investment and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, the subsequent corporate fatigue and political polarization from accountability to the business imperative introduced increased performance scrutiny, predatory treatment and punitive retaliation specifically against Black and Brown Women in the workplace.
DATA & INSIGHTS
Media reports and research studies reveal disproportionate treatment and unbalanced expectations to outperform, code switch, and create culture comfort due to the threat of opportunity loss, or punitive action, leaving many feeling alone, frustrated, trapped, and hopeless.
